BrainPOP Jr. Movie of the Week

Quick Line:  BrainPop for Little Learners

What Educators Need to Know:

Sweeten up your handheld experience with BrainPOP Jr.!  Junior carries some of the same traits as its older, wiser predecessor.  Free animated, educational videos are featured on a variety of topics that easily match content addressed in the classroom.  Junior offers a new free video each week.  This must be the week for Nutrition Education because I noshed on a quick one about the food groups!  Moby, the robot, is back, but his companion is a young girl.  Each video is about five minutes long, but BrainPOP does its homework and makes the best use of the time it has.  When finished, users have the option of taking an “easy” quiz or a “hard” quiz.  My only gripe is that it does not read the questions or answers to the user.  Most five or six year olds will not be able to read the quizzes independently.  This is a major bummer.   But, overall, I would recommend BrainPOP Jr. because the videos are well-made.  If you use them frequently in the classroom, consider buying a subscription for complete access to all videos all of the time.
